What will you be doing?
The Finance team consists in total of nine finance professionals who are responsible for accounting & controlling.
As Senior Financial Controller you are part of our Finance team taking ownership of financial control and reporting of our two operating companies INDG and GRIP with legal entities in several countries. As our organisation is experiencing steep growth year over year, we are looking for someone with experience in best practice financial reporting processes in order to build the reporting fundamentals required to support this growth.
In this role you will report directly to the Finance Director, and work together with four other team members in the Financial Control function.
You will be driving, and be hands-on involved in, an international financial reporting function in a fast growing organisation. For all entities a full set of financial reporting including consolidation/elimination need to be composed on monthly basis as well as an annual report and subsequent external audit. In this role it’s important you enjoy working in an environment where you can implement standard operating processes that makes (y)our work more efficient.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensuring P&L and balance sheet positions are fully substantiated
- Reconciliation of intercompany transactions including transfer pricing across the group
- Certain (correcting) accounting entries like deferred revenue and specific transactions
- Maintain chart of accounts, closing the period
- Statements over changes in equity, dividend
- Preparation and presentation of the consolidated Annual Accounts
- Liaise with external tax advisors, tax authorities
- Pro-active in the development of relevant reporting policies and manuals
Process Improvement:
- Implementation of best practices in month-end close in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment including cost allocations, (formalised) reconciliations, consolidation, elimination, P&L+B/S analyses and internal control activities
- Configuration of existing accounting system to desired internal control and reporting standards in close collaboration with the supplier of the accounting software
- Standardisation of Accounts Payable function including workflows aligned with VAT and Netherlands personal expense tax regulations
Experience / Qualifications/skills:
- Minimum of 10 years accounting experience
- Experience within Big Four and/or US stock market listed companies
- Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA) or local equivalent (possibly qualified by experience)
- Strong coordination and process implementation skills (e.g. month-end close processes)
- System configuration skills
- Experience with driving system migrations
- Experience with external audits from beginning till end
- Languages: English, fluent in speaking and writing

We have offices located in the heart of Amsterdam, Netherlands and Bucharest, Rumania but in principle you can work from other locations as well subject to practicalities like time zone and incidental (e.g. quarterly) visits to Amsterdam.
