Engineering Manager
Responsibilities
(for management additionally: subordinated departments with concrete functions of employees):
1. Management of employees, achievement of a set goal, realization of projects defined during a business year.
2. Improvement of technical processes, setting of production, launching new projects.
3. Working-out new technologies and their realization in production.
4. Professional tasks related to the position:
- Optimization of investments in production.
- Working out improvement plans of supporting equipment in production.
- Assessment and control the success of pilot and zero series of products.
- Assessment and control of test products.
- Participation at planning and working our areas, ensure technical capacity of the plant.
- Working out production instructions and standards, their translation and ensuring their use be team members.
- Description of technologies, working out guidance for machines.
- Working out on technical specifications for the new machines and equipment. Monitor the implementation of new equipment used in production and make the necessary tests for validation and release.
- Ensure all new equipment and machines are validated and release according Gentherm standars.
- Collaboration with customers and suppliers in solving problems.
- Working out plans on fewer expenses in production.
- Coordination of team members in acheaving plant and department KPIs.
- Suport of developing and maintaining the PFMEA.
- Drive and ensure the implementation of the latest CI opportunities.
- Drive and ensure the implementation of APQP standard.
- Conduct "External Benchmarking" as applied to the process (Example - attending trade shows, seminars).
- Administer permanent optimization of the process in 4 dimensions (operator, material, machine, tools).
- Apply for and release of investments related to the process.
- Support local teams in problem solving.
- Ensure all specifications related to product manufacturing are available and release.
- Determine process risks on for new processes.
- Provide proper support to others areas such as: Production, quality, manufacturing, etc.:
- -Solve problems relevant to current production and relevant to the production process and design.
- -Support as necessary to engineering corrective actions resulting from customer complaints and / or quality audits.
- Provide any additional information requested from other areas and or plants.
- Actively participation as process owners together with local owners:
- Create and update work instruction and procedures
- Provide training to others engineers
- Work on continuos improvements
- Work in parallel with process owners on regards of global improvements and standardization.
- Participation in developing of new projects in order to support most efficient ways to use people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product;
- Participation in developing of new products, lines and technologies;
- Participation in industrialization new product/projects;
- Participation in implementation of new company systems/software’s;
- Implement Lean Techniques.
- Make visits to customers or suppliers as necessary.
- Attend visits from customer, supplier or colleges from other locations as necessary.
- Participate and assist customer audits.
- Development of Tools Shop and automation of production processes;
- Provide continuos improvement projects by analyzing the process and/or work methods to improve productivity.
- Apply the principles of Gentherm Value Creation System;
- Providing suggestions for the future IE department development and strategies, making technical budgeting for the plant.
5. Rules on the position, after basic training:
- Knowledge of juridical cases according to position, internal principles, documents;
- Keeping of safety requirements and labour safety rules;
- Respect internal technical standards and guidelines and provide the ideas for improving them
6. Quality management:
- Guide the team for proper root cause analyses;
- Champion in technical problems solving;
7. Planning:
- Development of substitution plans as well as vacations;
- Interview and Selection of new employees, their training, re-training;
- Developing of job description;
- Developing and upting of training documents for engineers;
- Giving, performing and controlling tasks;
8. Communicative requirements, collaboration
- Preventing of the department conflicts
- Developing of the Gentherm Leadership
9. Performing of the requirements of the documentation system of ecological guidance.
10.Analyzing the incoming and outcoming activity data of the department and creation on the reason of the appropriate information list of ecological aspects, including wastes, revealed in their department.
11. Holding the initial identification of the ecological aspects.
12. Monitoring and actualization of ecological aspects that appears in the result of the department activity.
Education:
Higher Engineering
Experience:
3-5 years in engineering sphere. Leadership skills. Deep knowledge of technological processes
