Position: QA Engineer / Software Tester – Web & Mobile Applications
Location: Remote (North Macedonia)
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent (with EMUworks LLC)
Project Stage: Early-stage – Development of Web and Native Apps for iOS and Android
Start Date: Immediately

About the Project:

We are building two applications currently in MVP stage:

• A native mobile app for iOS and Android

• A web application

Our focus is on performance, scalability, and stability in live environments. The stack includes React, Swift, and NodeJS, with direct integration of REST APIs – no external hardware involved.

To ensure technical quality, we’re looking for an experienced QA Engineer who will define manual and automated test strategies, validate existing functionality, and ensure ongoing release readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans (functional, non-functional, regression, smoke, exploratory)
• Perform manual testing on real devices, browsers, and emulators (iOS/Android)
• Identify, reproduce, and document bugs using Microsoft Planner or internal task management tools
• Collaborate closely with mobile and web developers for debugging and issue resolution
• Develop automated UI tests using Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Detox, or Playwright
• Set up test suites for Continuous Integration / Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (GitLab CI)
• Analyze and evaluate automated test reports
• Conduct performance and usability testing
• Join code reviews from a QA perspective (e.g. unit test coverage, testability)

What You Bring:

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in QA, ideally in mobile app testing (native iOS & Android)
• Strong knowledge of mobile OS behavior, app lifecycle, and device-specific QA challenges
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Xcode, Android Studio, Playwright, BrowserStack
• Proficiency in automated testing of mobile and web apps (UI/API Layer/Regression)
• Solid foundation in testing methodologies (ISTQB or similar certification is a plus)
• Confident working with Git, command-line tools, and API debugging
• Strong communication skills and self-driven in agile teams (Scrum/Kanban)
• Optional: experience in mobile development (Swift/Kotlin) or test data mocking
• German language skills are a plus
