Role Summary:

The UI/UX Designer is accountable for delivering software on time, to budget and to a high quality meeting the functional requirements of the customer (which may be either a customer internal to Allocate or external to the organization).

You will work as part of a Scrum project team to design, code and test enterprise business functionality for Allocate’s product portfolio. This will include new development as well as maintenance of existing systems.


Responsibilities:

• Be able to clearly communicate design solutions to the product stakeholders.
• Create and design mock-ups.
• Design, develop and modify our applications in Microsoft and/or 3rd party JavaScript libraries as part of a team using the Scrum process framework.
• Design solutions that can work across desktops, tablets and mobile devices.
• Take complex design solutions and hand code them into HTML/CSS pages, ready for a developer.
• Implement functionality changes according to the user stories in the sprint backlog.
• Close collaboration and good communication with the Product Owner and the rest of the development team.
• Take responsibility to deliver high quality results according to criteria in the definition of done specification and focus on quality in each delivered increment.
• Participate in sprint planning activities and commit to sprint backlog when user stories are well understood and have reasonable estimations of effort.
• Make estimation of the effort of implementing user stories.
• Contribute to and follow company UI/UX standards.

 

 

Skills/Qualifications/Experience Required:

Essential:

• University Degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design or related subject.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a web developer.
• Solid understanding and practise of usability principles and standards-based design patterns.
• Experience of working with development in an agile team.
• Thorough and quality oriented.
• The technical ability to create complex HTML / CSS web pages to a high standard.
• The ability to effectively communicate your design processes and decisions that led to your solutions.
  
  Preferred:

• Experience using jQuery, Kendo UI, Angular JS, React, Knockout JS, Less/SAAS, Ionic framework.
• MS MVC or MVVM patterns or equivalent
