Financial Analyst

Description

We are looking for an energetic, knowledge hungry, eager to learn Financial Analyst who would support internal Finance team in internal financial activities as well as provide financial advice on client projects. The role will require financial modelling experience, strong analytical thinking and being familiar with the local and international accounting principles and tax laws.

Main responsibilities:

Internal financial activities:

• Assist in day-to-day tasks for the finance department;
• Prepare monthly expense reports and keep organised records;
• Maintaining statement of accounts; ledgers for contractors & suppliers;
• Organise incoming cost invoices and record accounts payable;
• Initiate weekly alerts for amounts due;
• Participate and support during budget preparation and audits (quarterly, bi-yearly, annual);
• Managing petty cash records and implement cost control;
• Drafting contracts and letters for review;
• Organise and keep track of important due dates for contracts, licenses, insurance renewals;
• Assisting with admin tasks, i.e. familiarity with local and international corporate and tax laws;

Client project activities:

• Support in development of excel financial models – understand the business for which the feasibility is being prepared, determine revenue and cost drivers, justify the assumptions via market benchmarks or other reliable sources.
• Support in business case preparations for client projects, including market, comparative, infrastructure deployment economic, pricing analyses.
• Participate in project delivery either on client premises or remotely as part of the team, supporting client delivery effects including performing project management support
• Support client presentations and defend data sources, analytical techniques and conclusions.

Requirements:

Successful candidate should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting; having financial certification is preferred (ACCA, CIMA, CFA etc.). Relevant MSc degree or MBA is a plus.
• Good knowledge of accounting and audit practices, and a willingness to increase IFRS knowledge. Basic knowledge of banking compliance, general company & legal laws.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in handling similar work, preferable within auditing, accounting or FP&A. Knowledge and/or experience in management consulting or telecom industry is a plus.
• High level of analytical thinking, be able to understand, document and explain all levels - from conceptual solutions to detailed data flows.
• Knowledge and/or experience in performing analysis and developing or working with excel financial models is essential
• Ability to apply proactive creative thinking, and to derive solutions independent of direct supervision.
• Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to clients or internally.
• Excellent English, verbal and written;
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint knowledge;
• Ability to work extended hours as and when required;
