                   Expert UNIX System Administrator

 

Key tasks

• Os Installation and upgrades;
• Defining and implementing new processes and procedures to improve performance and availability;
• Installation and configuration infrastructure services (DNS, mail, proxy, …);
• Managing Disk Subsystem;
• Incident resolving;
• Give proactive support to other users;
• Monitor systems, services, applications and storage capacity;
• HA Clusters Installation, Configuration and Operations;
• Installing new applications or controlling other suppliers installations;
• Suggest system configurations and parameters for new installations;
• Reconfigure storage and server parameters;
• Responsible for SAN configurations and connections;
• Inform users and manager about server related problems.

Core responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing UNIX systems;
• Responsible for setting up systems parameters;
• Responsible for backup & restore;
• Infrastructure Service management ( DNS, mail, proxy …) defining and maintaining proactive events for diagnosis as well as automation;
• Responsible for managing HA (cluster) UNIX systems;
• Responsible for tuning systems parameters;
• Managing Storage and SAN configurations;
• Responsible for Capacity planning;
• Responsible for mission critical services to be up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

 

Job requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in informatics;
• Min 2-3 years related working experience;
• Strong Admin skills with minimal two OSs;
• Can perform OS installation, IP networking configuration;
• Can establish backup policies;
• Can tune performance;
• Basic SAN Admin and HA Admin skills (Can perform operators tasks on servers in SAN and HA environment);
• Ability to identify and find solutions; outstanding analytical and problem solving skills;
• Has reasonable written and verbal skills
• Able to scope out small projects, do service deployments;
• Understanding of IT processes and procedures;
• Organized and able to manage and prioritize numerous requests simultaneously;
• Knowledge of English – excellent, oral and in writing;
• Customer-orientation, solution-oriented;
