Role Summary

The Allocate TechOps team delivers SaaS services that supports over 1,000,000 healthcare workers in the UK and globally.
The TechOps Engineer is accountable for the day to day management of cloud infrastructure and service quality. The role will also involve the maintenance, upgrades and further development of associated cloud infrastructure. The TechOps Engineer will report to the TechOps Lead and will work with a variety of internal teams to implement an effective and scalable framework for the delivery of Allocate Health Suite.

The TechOps Engineer is a hands-on technical role which is suited for people who are motivated by cloud and automation technology. The role involves people utilizing cloud services and external tools to automate management of our infrastructure and software. People in this role are expected to desire to learn new exciting Cloud technologies.

Skills and Knowledge

• Understanding of software and infrastructure architecture including applications, infrastructure and databases.

• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS & Azure

• Interested to learn new technologies and to be able to apply these to project work and every day activities.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and other Microsoft technologies including IIS.

• Motivated, self-organised, thorough, quality oriented and proactive.

• Good communication skills, able to coordinate and work with multiple teams at the same time.

• Evidence of problem solving and providing creative solutions.

• Collaborate with the team and others to deliver high quality solutions.

• Capable of working in a high-pressure environment.

Other Beneficial Skills

• Knowledge of networking standards, connectivity & VPN connections.

• Database knowledge and skills in relation to MS SQL, PostgreSQL & MongoDB.

• Understanding on monitoring and analytical tools such as Splunk.

• Automation and scripting skills including use of a scripting language such as Ruby and/or PowerShell.
