HVAC technician

JOB SUMMARY

The HVAC technician is the artisan who performs skilled, complex work in the repair, maintenance and installation of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and steam distribution equipment and energy management systems. In this role, he is directly reporting to the responsible Project Manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs, maintain and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning and steam distribution equipment and systems to optimize energy use.
• Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, lap top computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
• Install, maintains and repair computerized electronic pneumatic and digital direct control devices related to HVAC and heat control.
• Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments.
• Requests material and supplies from stockroom.
• Reads complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Maintains electronic/pneumatic testing equipment.
• Performs brazing, soldering, pipefitting, welding and fabrication.
• Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications
• Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls to power source
• May install, repair and service air conditioners, ranging from fifteen to twenty tons cooling capacity, in warehouses and small factory buildings.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of similar experience.
• Certified HVAC Technician from a recognized institution, secondary school or higher level of education in the same field would be considered as an equivalent.
• Good command of English language
