Job role:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the regular maintenance, monitoring, and interventions related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as building and environmental monitoring systems (BMS/EMS). The work is performed in a strictly regulated GMP environment for the production of medical cannabis, with a focus on controlling microclimate parameters such as pressure, temperature, and relative humidity.

Job responsibilities:

  • Perform regular and ad-hoc maintenance of HVAC systems in production and cleanroom areas.
  • Monitor and analyze environmental parameters via EMS/BMS systems (e.g., temperature, humidity, differential pressure).
  • Work with BACnet devices and controllers: configuration, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Respond to alarms in the EMS/BMS system: assess technical issues and communicate with relevant departments (QA, production).
  • Support installation, qualification, and commissioning of new HVAC equipment or systems.
  • Prepare and update technical documentation, logbooks, and maintenance records.
  • Participate in validation/qualification processes (IQ/OQ) for microclimate-related equipment (e.g., AHUs, filters, sensors).
  • Monitor parameter trends and graphs, and propose corrective or preventive actions when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP and safety protocols when intervening in controlled environments.
  • Coordinate and supervise external service providers or contractors, ensuring their work is compliant with contracts and internal SOPs.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary or higher technical education (electrical, mechanical, automation, or similar).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably in pharmaceutical, hospital, or other clean-controlled production environments.
  • Experience working with BACnet systems, PLC controllers, and SCADA interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of EMS/BMS systems, including alarm interpretation, trend monitoring, and basic configuration.
  • Familiarity with filtration systems, cleanroom classifications (ISO), differential pressure, and GMP principles.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergencies.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of English language (technical documentation reading).
  • Valid Category B driving license (preferred).
