HSE Officer – Kratovo, North Macedonia

We are currently looking for an experienced HSE Officer to join our project team in Kratovo, North Macedonia.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with OHS/HSE requirements.
• Monitor subcontractors’ HSE activities and follow up on corrective actions.
• Support HSE audits and provide data for monthly HSE reporting, including near misses, incidents, observations and closed actions.
• Monitor the implementation of the Project HSE Plan and report deficiencies.
• Inspect machinery, equipment, materials, fire extinguishers and emergency equipment.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with site safety procedures.
• Check emergency routes, first-aid equipment, fire points, ventilation and other safety facilities.
• Monitor required dust, gas, lighting, vibration and noise measurements.
• Participate in risk assessments, accident/incident investigations and environmental incident reporting.
• Monitor waste management and maintain relevant records.
• Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions and OHS on-the-job training.
• Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, inspection records, reports and corrective action follow-ups.
• Perform other HSE duties assigned by the Project HSE Team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in HSE/OHS, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Graduate of a vocational/technical school or relevant university program.
• Strong experience in HSE documentation, reporting and record keeping.
• Good knowledge of North Macedonia’s HSE/OHS laws and regulations and ability to ensure site compliance.
• Experience with risk assessments, site inspections, audits and subcontractor supervision.
• Willingness to work in a shift system.
• Preferably trained/certified in firefighting, first aid, search and rescue, and emergency evacuation.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Good command of English
