Local Dissemination and Outreach Officer

Our primary objective is to enhance Roma inclusion in the Western Balkans and Türkiye by expanding socio-economic opportunities. This is pursued through two specific outcomes:

Enhanced Roma-owned business growth and innovation: By providing training, financial support, and networking opportunities, the REDI aims to boost the growth and innovation of Roma-owned businesses, thereby increasing their economic resilience and contribution to the local economy.

Strengthened multi-stakeholder collaboration on Roma inclusion initiatives: REDI seeks to improve the coordination and effectiveness of Roma inclusion efforts by fostering partnerships among governments, civil society organizations, and international agencies. This collaborative approach ensures that resources are effectively utilized and that policies are inclusive and sustainable.

Role Description

This is a part-time or full-time, on-site role for a Local Dissemination and Outreach Officer based in Skopje. The successful candidate will lead REDI North Macedonia’s external communications, including online presence, social media, media relations, and public outreach. This role is ideal for a creative and strategic communicator who is passionate about advancing Roma economic inclusion through visibility, storytelling, and network-building.

Key Responsibilities

Communications and Visibility

  • Develop and implement dissemination and visibility strategies tailored to the local context
  • Manage social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) and the Centre’s communication channels with regular, engaging content
  • Produce visual and written materials such as newsletters, press releases, brochures, infographics, videos, and impact stories
  • Follow EU and donor guidelines for public visibility
  • Monitor analytics and engagement to improve communication reach and effectiveness

Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with Roma communities and encourage participation in project activities
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to promote the Centre’s work and gather feedback
  • Serve as the first point of contact for community inquiries and concerns, ensuring timely and respectful responses

Stakeholder Relations

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, media outlets, and business groups
  • Provide consistent updates to stakeholders and identify opportunities for collaboration
  • Support the organization and promotion of public events, press briefings, and community activities

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare regular reports on dissemination and outreach activities, highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned
  • Contribute to donor reports, project updates, and case studies demonstrating impact
  • Capture lessons learned and best practices to strengthen future outreach efforts

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in communications, outreach, or public relations roles, ideally within NGOs, EU-funded projects, social development programs, or regional business support initiatives
  • Proven experience engaging community groups and stakeholders

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in both English and Macedonian is required (Romani Language will be considered as an asset)
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, including social media platforms (Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, TikTok), web content management (WordPress, Canva), and email marketing
  • Ability to craft clear, engaging, and impactful messages
  • Experience in media relations and online campaign coordination is an asset
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Working Conditions

  • Location: Based in REDI’s Skopje Office, with occasional travel to project sites and events
  • Schedule: Part-time (approximately 20 hours or full-time 40 hours/week) with flexible arrangements possible
