Job Title: Head of Quality Assurance - Pharmaceutical Industry

The Head of Quality Assurance is responsible for the consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practice (GMP) systems; validating processes; providing documentation; managing staff. This role ensures that all external and internal requirements are met before our product reaches our customers. You will be responsible for inspecting procedures and outputs and identifying mistakes or non-conformity issues.

Responsibilities

• Control procedures and ensure compliance with GMP; create, write, and approve SOPs in accordance with GMP.
• Conduct final reviews, including reviewing analytical and microbiological results, deviations, and change controls.
• Lead the processes and activities arising from corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure that the annual product review is conducted in accordance with standards.
• Monitor the implementation of the compliance program and ensure that all critical trends are appropriately addressed.
• Oversee and manage the raw material control system.
• Provide GMP training for new and existing staff.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee laboratory analyses for compliance activities, emergency response, site studies, health and safety studies, testing, and remediation.
• Effectively and efficiently carry out accurate failure assessments to address root causes and ensure continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance to all other departments regarding GMP.
• Participate in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Undertake other responsibilities related to quality assurance programs and procedures, in accordance with the skills and qualifications of the candidate.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in a quality assurance department.
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or natural health products.
• Excellent ability to implement and maintain a quality assurance system, including review of batch records and document control, including quality testing.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong technical writing skills (SOPs, annual reports, research summaries, etc.).
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Excellent spoken and written English skills.
